Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The portfolio committee on Police has raised serious concerns about the state of many police stations in the country and urged the management of the police and the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure to do more to create conducive working conditions that will improve the morale of police members.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The police in NW were very active between March 24 and 30 with 761 suspects arrested for various crimes.
The Shanela operations put hundreds behind bars for, among others burglaries at residential and non-residential premises, aggravated robberies, murders, rapes, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, illegal possession of explosives used mainly in the commission of illegal mining and cash-in-transit robberies, dealing in and possession of drugs and driving under the influence of liquor, among others.
‘Neglect behind SAPS’ low morale’

Flooding delays traffic on the N12
Lentswe, Stilfontein - The DA has requested the South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) to address the recurring flooding on the N12 near Stilfontein. With every rainfall, this section of road on the N12 becomes hazardous, leading to accidents and endangering motorists. The DA also pleads for a longterm solution and not a quick fix. “The core issue is the city’s failing stormwater drainage infrastructure, which requires an urgent audit and a coordinated response to ensure proper drainage and prevent further flooding,’’ said Freddy Sonakile, DA spokesperson on public works and roads.
New councillor welcomed
Lentswe, Orkney - The Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality welcomed Lebogang Victor Itebogeng as a councillor after he was sworn-in by Magistrate Benjamin Letsholo at the Orkney Magistrate Court on Wednesday April 2. Whilst Cllr Itebogeng has pledged to obey, respect and uphold the Constitution and all other laws of the Repu-blic of South Africa, he also promised to carry out his duties as a member of the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality Council to the best of his ability.
