NOORDWESTER - WOLMARANSSTAD - A male (20) was expected to appear in the Wolmaransstad Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 October, for robbery (aggravating).
The suspect’s court appearance follows his apprehension on Saturday, 26 October, by members of the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit. It is alleged that the suspect and two other males armed with pangas, went to a supermarket construction site on Sunday, 6 October, in Wolmaransstad. The trio allegedly intimidated and demanded money from the employees.
“Recode” jou voorafbetaalde elektrisiteitsmeter
NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - Alle verbruikers met munisipale voorafbetaalde (prepaid) meters word in kennis gestel van die verpligte “recode” van meters deur ‘n proses genaamd TID (Token Identifier).
Die STS (Standard Transfer Specification) gebaseerde voorafbetaalmeters sal op 24 November nie meer elektrisiteit kan inpons nie. Dit beteken dat sodra die voorafbetaalde meters se bestaande krediete uitgeput is, verbruikers nie meer elektrisiteit sal kan opsit nie.
EMS and colleagues reach out to Manana Primary
NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG – Kehilwe Nancy Sebokolodi, an employee at the Emergency Medical Service Lichtenburg (EMS), took the initiative to assist pupils of Manana Primary School in need of school uniforms and other vital items.
Her local colleagues gave their full support to the project. Me Matlawe and officials from other districts and provinces operating under the Women Paramedic Support Group, a non-profit organisation, joined in.
Ward Councillor and two others arrested for extortion
NOORDWESTER – WOLMARANSSTAD - The Anti-Gang Unit arrested three suspects on Wednesday, 16 October - one of which is a Ward Councillor - for extortion.
These arrests follows extensive investigations that indicated that a contractor, who was awarded a contract to build a supermarket in Extension 10, had allegedly been blackmailed since June. The contractor contacted the local Councillor and asked for assistance to employ locals, thereafter he was allegedly threatened numerous times and payments demanded for his safety and smooth running of the building project.
GROGL’s conference with message for matric class of 2024
NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - The social movement of men called God; Restore Our Good Life (GROGL) with the motto “Men of Action Walking Together” under the leadership of Dr Daniël Buthelezi recently held a successful Men’s Conference at Polly De La Rey outside Lichtenburg.
The theme of the conference was “Uniting against Social ills to advance Social Peace, Stability and Cohesion.”
