Buhle is the new Miss NW Exclusive

Klerksdorp Record, Kanana - Buhle Tshoniswa is the newly crowned Miss North West Exclusive 2024.

The Kanana-born queen started her pageantry journey in 2022 after suffering from depression and anxiety due to a skin condition that left her bullied and belittled by society.

She was encouraged by her uncle to enter pageants and use her voice to express herself and encourage other young girls who may be going through similar situations to stay strong and not let their physical appearance stop them from perusing their dreams.

Throughout her Miss North West Exclusive journey, Buhle has advocated for education and the pressing issues of substance abuse.

Loufi live in Klerksdorp

Rotaract is bringing popular South African hip-hop artist, Loufi to Klerksdorp with a concert in support of the Orkney Animal Shelter and Rotaract’s community projects.

Jong kunstenaars stal hul werk uit

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - The B Gallery het met ‘n paar plaaslike kunsonderwysers saamgespan en ‘n kunsuitstalling van kinderkuns gehou.

Dit was vir Zet Havenga van The B Gallery ‘n droom wat waargeword het om ‘n uitstalling te hou waaraan jong kunstenaars deelneem. “Ek wou dit al lankal doen en gelukkig het Mezelle Pretorius die leisels vasgevat en daaraan gereel en verlede Vrydagaand kon ons die kinders en hul ouers by die gallery onthaal vir die amptelike opening.’’

Mezelle is ‘n kunsonderwyser en eienaar van The Art Studio en sy het haar kontakte in die kunsbedryf bymekaar gekry om die uitstalling gestalte te gee. Uiteindelik het kunsleerlinge van Laerskole Saamtrek en Roosheuwel, Curro en Hoërskool Wesvalia en HTS aan die uitstalling deelgeneem saam met kunsstudente van The Art Studio. Kontantpryse was op die spel in verskillende ouderdomsgroepe.

Die uitstalling kan nog tot 14 Oktober by die gallery besigtig word. Die gallery is ook op Sondae oop.

Dancers give world class performance in the UK

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Dressed under the banner of Green and Gold, you are looking at Dance Sport Athletes that represented the South Africa Team at the UDO World Street Dance Championships that was held in Blackpool, UK earlier this month.

Five Klerksdorp dancers placed seventh in the World Final dancing in the advanced under 16 division; Zaid Bekker, Elhandri Potgieter, Bianca Kotze, Mické Seider and Shaelyn Coward were proud to represent South Africa.

Hinterland Klerksdorp trek nuwe baadjie aan

Hinterland het op Saterdag 24 Augustus amptelik sy deure by ŉ nuwe perseel met ŉ beter ligging oopgemaak. Tydens dié geleentheid het Francois Strydom, hoof-uitvoerende beampte van die Senwes Groep, die lint by die nuwe adres op die N12, langs Senwes se hoofkantoor, geknip.
