A blessing for Blessing

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - After taking the leap, placing her name in the hat, and submitting her application to be part of the 2025 Mrs South Africa season, Klerksdorp’s very own Blessing Ngwenya, was announced a semi-finalist in the Mrs South Africa pageant.

The big draw for Ngwenya is the pageant’s promise of genuine empowerment, personal transformation, and the ability to make a lasting impact.

Every story is unique - ask every contestant, and each will have a different defining moment that brought them here. Likewise, for Ngwenya, her reason for joining the Mrs South Africa sisterhood was clear.

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Die Goliat van Gat Pampoenfees op Cullinan het die afgelope naweek bieliepampoene opgelewer.

Die wenner vanjaar was Cornelis Bester van Heidelberg met sy pampoen, Grietjie, wat die skaal op 445 kg trek.

Die pampoengeregkompetisie was ook ’n sukses, met Ritha Combrink wat as wenner uit die stryd getree het met haar heerlike pampoensop. Die eerste vyf wenners van die pampoengeregkompetisie het elk ’n kookkursus gewen.

Die pampoendra-kompetisie het gesorg vir ’n paar swaar oomblikke toe deelnemers hulle bes gedoen het om die groot pampoene rond te dra, en die pitspoegkompetisie het die spoeg laat spat.

Potholes patched, while taxi drivers protest

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Matlosana Municipality is being taken to task by taxi drivers in the city when the drivers blocked entrances to the municipal buildings with their vehicles earlier this week.

Taxi drivers said they were fed-up with the condition of roads causing damage to their vehicles.

Nelson Mongale, Director of Technical and Infrastructure in the City of Matlosana, had no choice but to meet with the taxi drivers from Jouberton Ext 6, 7, and 13 to address their concerns regarding road conditions.

Life Anncron Hospital’s resident cardiologist and specialist physician, Dr Don Zachariah, has successfully performed the first mechanical coronary thrombectomy in the province. A thrombectomy is a procedure to remove a blood clot (thrombus) from a blood vessel. It is commonly performed in the cerebral arteries. Mechanical thrombectomy is an interventional procedure that uses a device to remove the clot. Surgical thrombectomy is a type of surgery that removes the clot from inside an artery or vein. This milestone underscores the cardiology team’s dedication to providing cutting-edge cardiac care to the community. Dr Zachariah is second from left.

Leerlinge kry gratis oogtoetse

Klerksdorp Rekord, Stilfontein - Sowat 520 leerlinge van Laerskool Stilfontein het vandeesweek oogtoetse gekry wat deur die Lions bewerkstellig het.

Die drie plaaslike Lions klubs neem hande om hul projek genaamd Operation Bright Sight seep glad te laat verloop.

Die laerskool was die eerste skool in die omgewing waar hulle die tegnologie gebruik het. Dit het op Maandag 3 Maart plaasgevind.
