The Inter school athletics for LSEN schools took place on March 6 and Keurhof School did exceptionally well. Keurhof walked away with seven trophies and was the overall winner of the Inter. Nineteen learners qualified to represent NW at the LSEN SA Athletics that will take place in Bloemfontein from April 2-5. Pieter Smith, organiser of the school’s athletic team thanked each athlete and coach for their hard work and dedication. The athletes are (front) Abdool Jumar, Kamohelo Mpasi, Tlhalefo Matsi, (middle) Megail Steytler, Nomathamsanqa Kwandenese, Reneilwe Bamphitile, Faith Khumalo, Jeanette Witbors, Tshegofatso Hendriks, Mmataemane Sekoati, Reitumetse Koloane, (back) Mokemane Mokemane, Thabiso Modisane, Tebogo Mfelang, Siyabonga Mtiyang, Neo Moloi, Kamogelo Mere, Nkosinathi Zuene and Dylan Nieuwenhuizen.

 

Laerskool Meiringspark spog met twee atlete wat op 21 en 22 Maart aan die SA Atletiekkampioenskap in Germiston deelgeneem het. Stian Dreyer het vyfde geëindig in o10 gewigstoot. Annemicke Pretorius het aan die o11 gewigstoot deelgeneem.

 

 

 

 

 

Agtien atlete van Laerskool Saamtrek verteenwoordig Noordwes tydens die SA kampioenskap wat die week gehou word. Hulle neem aan ‘n
totaal van 25 items deel. Die atlete is (voor) Dherik Hennop, Jayden van der Westhuizen, Christiaan Pretorius, Lilika Fourie, Wian Oberholster, Estian le Roux, Liam Coetzer, (agter) Ryan Beets, Juhanell Ollewagen, Declynne da Silva, Nélike vd Berg, Alto Wiggett, Denay Fourie, Nia Terblanche, Lean van Staden, Carla du Rand en Zanelle Karsten. Rogan Roos was afwesig.

Bohlale Makurube represented Milner High School on Friday February 28 and Saturday March 1 at the Northwest swimming trials in Potchefstroom. He achieved two third places, one second place and five first places. Bohlale was selected for the Northwest Swimming team and will be participating at the SA level 3 championship on March 20. Ditebogo Lobeko won gold for boys u13 long jump at the Dr Kenneth Kaunda athletics meeting and went on to win another gold at the North West championships. His next competition is the SA championships. Ditebogo is a learner at PA Theron Primary School.
