Trio stole tyres
NOORDWESTER - LICHTENBURG - A concerted effort between police and private security company employees culminated in the arrest of three Zimbabwean foreign nationals on Thursday, 1 August in Lichtenburg for possession of suspected stolen goods.
It is alleged that a suspicious white Ford Ranger vehicle with three occupants was spotted in Lichtenburg on Wednesday, 31 July. As a result, and utilising CCTV cameras, Lichtenburg Visible Policing, K9 Unit and CIB Security members monitored the movement of the vehicle, which headed to the direction of Mahikeng.

Numerous arrests in Operation Shanela
NOORDWESTER – SANNIESHOF - Operation Shanela swooped into town on Friday, 2 August when Constable Paul Nakedi of Sannieshof Crime prevention induction, along with members of Lichtenburg’s K-9 Unit and Mahikeng CI and a Provincial tasked team for drugs conducted an operation.
One suspect was arrested for possession of drugs at Phelindaba Section Agisanang Location in Sannieshof. Seven parcels of transparent plastic bags full of Crystal meth and cash were seized.
Hijacked vehicle found at Botswana border
NOORDWESTER – Molopo - Dumisani Mnyandu (56) is expected to reappear in the Molopo Magistrates’ Court in Mahikeng on Thursday, 1 August, for bail application.
Mnyandu was apprehended on Thursday, 25 July, while attempting to cross the Ramatlabana Port of Entry into Botswana with a Hyundai Grand Creta vehicle. He was arrested after the circulation system showed that the vehicle he was driving, with KwaZulu-Natal registration number, was allegedly hijacked at Mbizana in the Eastern Cape, on Sunday, 14 July.
