NOORDWESTER – MAHIKENG - A case of a missing student was registered during May and the case was allocated to detective Warrant Officer O.A. Motlhabane.
Thabiso Alias Motolo, known as Soso, a North West University (Mahikeng Campus) student went missing. The University CCTV showed him leaving the campus alone.
Friends could not assist. Nevertheless, Warrant Officer Motlhabane didn’t despair and followed any lead that came his way.

Livestock thief arrested for theft to the value of R150 000
NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - An alleged notorious livestock thief, Moses Matshego (39), will remain in custody following a brief appearance in the Ditsobotla Magistrates’ Court in Itsoseng on Friday, 6 September. He is expected to reappear before the same court on Thursday, 12 September.
Matshego was arrested on Wednesday morning, 4 September, near Itsoseng after Mahikeng Stock theft and Endangered Species (STES) unit members followed up on a tip-off about suspected stolen cattle loaded in a truck.
Fraud in Ditsobotla Local Municipality
NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - NORTH WEST: Radikashu Isaac Tsie (44) appeared in the Lichtenburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 11 September 2024, on charges of fraud.
Tsie was arrested this week by members of the Mahikeng-based Serious Commercial Crime Investigation in Lichtenburg.
His arrest follows an investigation into allegations of fraud relating to the procurement of legal practitioner’s services for Ditsobotla Local Municipality.
Police Officer sentenced to life
NOORDWESTER - ZEERUST - The Zeerust Regional Court sentenced Annius Mmutle (50), to double life imprisonment for killing his estranged wife and her boyfriend on 14 March 2023.
The court ordered that both sentences should run concurrently, and the accused was declared unfit to possess a firearm. The court heard that Mmutle was separated from his wife as they were experiencing marital problems. The accused was a Detective Warrant Officer, stationed at Nietverdient police station.
