Klerksdorp business woman, philanthropist, wife and mother Lerina van Wyk received three trophies from The Woman in South Africa Awards - Imbokodo in recognition of uplifting work she is doing in the community. This was awarded to her on Women’s Day August 9. Lerina is a former Mrs Klerksdorp and well-known in the community for the work she is doing among the less-privileged and animal shelters. “My aim is to inspire other women to get involved and change the lives of others positively by providing love, food and other much needed items. By adding value to people, I can see a difference in people’s lives. This gives the hopeless hope and the hungry food, and the lonely people love. Our country needs women who can take the lead, and I believe with God on our side we cannot be anything else, but successful! When God blesses you financially, don’t raise your standard of living, raise your standard of giving. How do we change the world? One single act of kindness at a time!’’ Lerina is married to Marcu, an insurance broker, and they have three children.
