Amira het in ‘n stampvol Hervormde Kerk opgetree en ‘n staande ovasie gekry. Die konsert was op Vrydagaand 9 Mei. Die jong Nederlandse sopraan met ‘n Afrikaanse ma - wat in Klerksdorp grootgeword het voor sy na Nederland verhuis het - het die gehoor bekoor met haar spontane persoonlikheid, haar liefde vir Afrikaans en ook haar geloof.

According to Dr Dirk Strydom, Managing Director, NAMPO, the significant rains caused temporary waterlogging in parts of the showgrounds. However, the return of sunny weather has already made a positive difference, with clear skies and drying conditions steadily improving across the site and lifting the spirits of everyone involved.

Bishop OP Makoro (49), who served in ministry at Phodiso Worship Centre under the leadership of Apostle TD Mofokeng, passed away on April 29.
The centre family suffered a great loss at the passing of the bishop, who was deeply embedded into the church.
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Excitement was in the air on Saturday afternoon May 3 when the contestants in the Miss Teen Klerksdorp, Miss Klerksdorp and Mrs Klerksdorp competition got together for a photoshoot at the popular restaurant Rosemary’s.
Pageant Director Zee Dyson is thrilled with the new group of ladies participating in the pageant this year. The crowning ceremony will be held on July 5 at City on a Hill Church. In the meantime, the contestants have been tasked to keep themselves busy with charity work in their communities.
“These are working titles, and even though the winners receive huge prizes, a big part of their responsibility is to have an open heart for charity work,’’ said Zee.
She called on the community to support the ladies with their charity projects. Tickets for the event on July 5 are already available from finalists.
