“Die tak het hierdie projek aangepak omdat die munisipaliteit herhaaldelik versuim om dit te doen en sodoende die lewe van motoriste en leerlinge in gevaar stel,” sê Alta Pretorius, AfriForum se distrikskoördineerder vir die Mooirivier.

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Die polisie, Rio Casino, die Klerksdorp Rotariërs, Build It Klerksdorp en vrywilligers het saamgewerk om Internasionale Mandeladag te vier.

Vrydag 18 Julie het begin met ‘n parade by Rio Casino, vanwaar die mense in groepe gedeel is om gemeenskapswerk te doen. Die Lethabile Multi Centre in Alabama is eerste besoek waar die senior burgers gehelp is. Rio Casino het doeke vir volwassenes geskenk.

The Methodist Church donated baby clothes to the Maternity ward at Klerksdorp Hospital on Mandela Day. Martie Pitzer can be seen holding one of the new born babies, with the baby’s mother looking on.

 

 

 

 

Prof KP Mokhobo and his foundation were doing their 67 minutes of Nelson Mandela Day at Tshepong/Klerksdorp hospital. Prof Kubedi Patrick Mokhobo is seen supplying toiletries to patients. The 93 year-old is seen here with his wife, Neuoe Mokhobo, and a matron at Tshepong hospital. Prof KP Mokhobo is the first black physician and cardiologist who graduated from Wits University in the early fifties. His foundation is helping aspiring students to pursue their medical studies. 

 

 

 

 

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Lions Clubs of Klerksdorp and Stilfontein announced their newly-elected presidents during a special ceremony held on July 12.

Mina van Biljon was appointed as the new president of Lions Club Klerksdorp, while Shelby van Schalkwyk will lead the Stilfontein branch. The evening also marked the induction of three new members into the Lions family: Marietjie Meyer, Brian Wilson, and Lindie Wrensch.
