Cinemas stay open

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Rumours have it that Ster-Kinekor have already closed their cinemas in Matlosana Mall. That is not true!

The cinema complex are top notch and with a string of top movies coming during the school holidays, the cinemas should do very well.

The CEO Mark Sardi announced recently that the company will be closing nine complexes, with others under review. Matlosana Mall’s cinemas were destined to be closed later this year but it seems good news is in order as the local movie centre is still open on selective hours after the restructuring process concluded end of May.

Morning tea in aid of Cancervive

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Tickets are being sold for a ladies tea where Cancervive’s CEO Marlene Nortje will be the main speaker.

The event will highlight the roll Cancervive plays in creating awareness and celebrating cancer survivors.

Local cancer warrior, Liesl Morgan will also share some insight on her battle with the disease. Estate agent Tanya Els will complete the trio of guest speakers.

Klerksdorp Rekord het vroeër in Mei berig oor die jong ma wat na erge hoofpyne met die gewas gediagnoseer is. Dié simptome het verlede jaar begin en terwyl haar vorige huisdokter haar klagtes van konstante hoofpyn afgelag het, het ‘n ander dokter haar op 9 April vir ‘n MRI skandering gestuur wat die ergste bevestig het.

Making a little boy’s dream come true

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - A youngster from Jouberton was all smiles last week when Rio Casino helped his dream come true.

The casino partnered with the Reach for a Dream Foundation to make Tsiamiso Swanepoel’s dream come true. He is very sick and dreams of being a chef one day. He also really wanted a Playstation 5.

Rotary supports Goue Arend Primary

Klerksdorp Record, Alabama - In honour of Rotary’s Youth Month, the Klerksdorp club delivered textbooks and science kits to Goue Arend Primary School in Alabama.

Earlier this year, Klerksdorp Rotary was approached by Wyman Slambert who expressed a dream to open a media centre for the learners at the school before he retires. He is the media centre coordinator.
