Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Unemployment is approaching a provincial disaster.
The NW continues to be the only province with more unemployed people than working, and there are calls to declare the joblessness a provincial disaster.
According to the latest Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS) from Stats SA, the province has an official unemployment rate of 40.1% and an expanded unemployment rate of 54.7%, meaning more than half of its working-age population is unemployed.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - A young actor from Klerksdorp Technical High School has a very bright future ahead of him.
Kumkani Pilonti’s name may not be too familiar, but watch out as he intends to make acting his career and next year he wants to be in various productions as he has signed with a new agency.
How did he get into film? He made a Tiktok video and was contacted to audition for a role.
Pilonti, now 17 years old and in Grd 10, played the support lead character in the film “Thabo & The Rhino Case,” which is a drama now streaming on Apple TV. It was made in 2022. This international film was produced by Oscar Award-winning producer Peter Hermann and German production company Desert Flower.

Klerksdorp Rekord, Rustenburg - Die Noordwes-Universiteit (NWU) het planne aangekondig om ‘n nuwe kampus in Rustenburg te bou.
Die kampus gaan hoofsaaklik op mynbou en mynbou-ingenieurswese fokus. Konstruksie sal na verwagting in 2027 begin en teen 2030 voltooi wees. Dit word as een van die drie groot strategiese projekte gelys wat die universiteit beplan.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - A new voice was added to the exciting splurge of Klerksdorp authors making a name for themselves in the literary world.
Sam-Annique Lowry is the latest author mentored by Stefaans Coetzee and will be hosting her book launch next week. Her book, the first in a series, is called Forever Yours and is published by Naledi. She says if you’ve ever loved, lost or longed for something real, this book is for you.
Forever Yours tells the story of teenagers, Julie and Britney through the ups and downs of searching for Mr Right. Julie seems to have it all. Yet deep down she longs for true love. For best friend Britney, on the other hand, love seems to come too easily. Both teens are frustrated by their dating struggles, so they decide to make a list of relationship rules to help them navigate through the challenges of finding real love in an age where all of society seems to be after superficial love.
