Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The District Governor of Rotary visited the local Rotary clubs recently.

During Steve Shone’s visit to Klerksdorp Rotary he delivered an inspring address reminding members of the importance of sharing their Rotary story with the world - because if they don’t tell it, who will? 

He left them reflecting on a powerful question: “What is your hashtag?” 

Klerksdorp Rotary also introduced their German exchange student, Theo Weidinger, to the DG, who is already bringing fresh energy and perspective to the club family.

The award-winning comedian - who is also a qualified medical doctor - returns to the stage with his all-new stand-up show, What’s the Point? and is heading to Rio Casino on Sunday August 24 at 15:00.

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - NG Welsyn se damestee ter ere van Vrouemaand is dié liefdadigheidsinstansie se grootste fondsinsamelingsprojek vir die jaar.

Elke jaar ondersteun borge die funksie wat al ‘n jaarlikse instelling is gedurende Augustus en word dit al bykans 30 jaar lank in Klerksdorp aangebied. Dit is vanjaar weer by C’est la Belle gehou. 

Die sangeres, Liezel Pieters het die wintersoggend behoorlik opgewarm met haar goue stem en aan die einde van die vertoning het die dames se voete gejeuk toe sy afsluit met treffers uit die tagtigerjare. Voor haar optrede, het gaste geluister na Melanie le Roux wat oor haar pad met NG Welsyn as pleegma gesels het en die suksesvolle aanneming van haar twee woelwaters.

Gaste het gesmul aan die heerlike peuselhappies voorgesit deur Abri Coetzee en sy span. Almal was dit eens dat dit weer ‘n uithalerfunksie was.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The police cautioned motorists to be vigilant after a spate of hijackings in the province. 

Numerous cases of car and truck hijackings were recently reported and vehicles such as Toyota and Volkswagen targeted. Capt Mpho Manyoba, spokesperson, said these incidents take place mostly over weekends. 

In a case registered in Brits on June 12, a truck driver was hired to collect a machine at Pendoring Road. Upon arrival at the address, he was attacked by two armed men who forced him to drive away from the scene. “According to information, the suspects tied the victim up then left him in the bush and drove away with the truck.’’
