Klerksdorp Record, Potchefstroom - The North West police community is mourning the loss of Captain Mpho Manyoba (47), a dedicated SAPS spokesperson who was stationed in Potchefstroom.
According to Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, her commanding officer, she passed away at about 11:00 on Saturday morning August 16.
According to information received it is believed that she suffered a heart attack.
“It is with regret and great sadness that we are informing you of the death of one of our own, Captain Manyoba. May her soul rest in peace,” said Mokgwabone in a short message to members of the North West Police communication group.
Captain Manyoba was well known and loved among her peers.

During Steve Shone’s visit to Klerksdorp Rotary he delivered an inspring address reminding members of the importance of sharing their Rotary story with the world - because if they don’t tell it, who will?

Klerksdorp Rotary also introduced their German exchange student, Theo Weidinger, to the DG, who is already bringing fresh energy and perspective to the club family.

Travellers must be cautious
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The police cautioned motorists to be vigilant after a spate of hijackings in the province.
Numerous cases of car and truck hijackings were recently reported and vehicles such as Toyota and Volkswagen targeted. Capt Mpho Manyoba, spokesperson, said these incidents take place mostly over weekends.
In a case registered in Brits on June 12, a truck driver was hired to collect a machine at Pendoring Road. Upon arrival at the address, he was attacked by two armed men who forced him to drive away from the scene. “According to information, the suspects tied the victim up then left him in the bush and drove away with the truck.’’
