Boost for local SMMEs
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Matlosana Municipality launched a local industrial development programme to empower local SMMEs.
The municipality in collaboration with SALGA North West and Mbuso Management Solutions, supported by Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA) launched the programme at Itireleng Learning Centre in Vaal Reefs on Friday February 2.
Music can change lives
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - NW Musikon believes that music can change lives.
A student of the music school excelled during his matric year and the management is bursting with pride. Sandrie van Deventer was Asish Mathew’s piano teacher.
She remembers when he came through the doors of the NW Musikon as a young boy and started playing piano. He obtained his Grade 7 from Trinity College in London (with a distinction) and on top of that seven A’s in matric.
The teen has been accepted to the University of Pretoria for medical studies. NW Musikon wishes him all the best, and look forward to seeing how he changes the world.
Exciting new art competition launched
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - An art school in Klerksdorp is awaiting entries from budding artists in the Kosh community to create a winning self-portrait.
Marco’s Atelier launched the new art competition titled “Me, Unfiltered” and is looking for self-portraits.
A total of R20 000 in prizes can be won. Entries will open on June 3 and close on July 29. The Top 50 artists will be invited to a gala event that will take place on September 12.
Rotary awards community workers
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Rotary Club of Orkney had the pleasure of hosting DG Jacques Venter and his wife Lynda, at their Vocational Awards evening.
The awards evening is where the Rotarians give recognition and appreciation to community members for outstanding work done in the community.
