Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Four accused, including a dismissed police officer, were expected to make a second appearance in the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court this week for unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition.
Thembinkosi Mbatha (30), Motsaathebe Kopano (51), Gareng Dikgang (35) and Fikile Darala (51) initially appeared in court on July 10. They were expected back in court on Wednesday July 17.
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Agriculture MEC Madoda Sambatha was rushed to hospital in Klerksdorp earlier this week after he was involved in an accident on the R30 near Ventersdorp.
He was returning home to Klerksdorp from Rustenburg, said Khoza Pelele, ANC Caucus chairperson. The Chief Whip of the North West Provincial Legislature (NWPL), Motlalepula Rosho on Tuesday July 16 wished Sambatha a speedy recovery.
“We wish Comrade Sambatha a speedy recovery, healing and restoration on behalf of the ANC Caucus in the North West Provincial Legislature. We are grateful that he survived the horrific accident with minor injuries.”

According to Anastacia Subrumuny, spokesperson, the company discovered that a small batch mistakenly contain the ingredients of the Knorr “Professional Brown Sauce Base”. The affected stock contains cow’s milk and soy as allergens, which are not included on the packaging of the brown onion gravy.
“We did not receive any complaints or news about consumers getting ill. We discovered it in our factory and decided to act pro-actively,” she said.
Knorr requests that consumers who have purchased any packets of the Knorr “Brown Onion Gravy” marked BB 11 DEC 2025 KM 4163 E14A or BB 12 DEC 2025 KM 4164 E14A do not consume the products and return the product to the nearest retailer for a refund or notify Unilever SA via their Consumer Careline on 0860 331 441 or Consumer Engagement Centre WhatsApp line on +27 67 429 7040.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The management and owners of City Mall in Klerksdorp CBD are questioning the decision of Matlosana Municipality to close the shopping centre last week.
“It was unnecessary to close down the mall, as there was no public safety risk, which has also been confirmed by registered engineers. It is concerning and disappointing that little is being done to combat crime in town, as citizens are being terrorized daily in the streets for cellphones and valuables. We can confirm that the City Mall is safe for tenants and shoppers. We take the safety of our staff, customers and tenants very seriously,’’ said Naeem Karim, on behalf of 4th Storey, the company that owns City Mall.
