Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Padelspelers het die naweek ‘n groot geleentheid gehad om kragte te meet - en vir ‘n goeie doel. 

As deel van ‘n fondsinsameling vir Chris Grobler, wat steeds veg teen kanker, het sportliefhebbers op Saterdag 26 Julie by Padel Inspired Matlosana byeengekom en hul staal gewys. Tagtig spelers het ingeskryf en as pare meegeding.

Dit is maar een van talle padeltoernooie wat gereël is om fondse vir die skoolseun in te samel. Klerksdorp Rekord het verneem dat daar al meer as R100 000 ingesamel is tydens die padeltoernooie wat op verskillende datums plaasgevind het.

Die pas afgelope toernooi het toeskouers en ondersteuners gelok, met meer as 100 mense wat in die dag se pret gedeel het.

KHS se meisies gholfspan is die tweede beste in die land. Die span bestaande uit Karmen Marais, Aimee van Rooyen, McKayling van Rooyen, Ciska van der Walt en Juhanell Ollewagen, het puik gevaar by die SA toernooi vir hoërskole wat by Orkney Gholfklub aangebied is.

 

 

 

 

Andries Kotze het die afgelope Saterdag 26 Julie sy 100ste parkrun by die Matlosana Bird parkrun voltooi.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Some of the country’s top Drill, Dance and Majorettes athletes were in action at the Federation of Dance, Drill, Cheerleading and Majorette Sport South Africa’s (FDDCMSA) national championship.

Athletes performed from July 12 until Wednesday July 16 at Hoërskool Wesvalia. Schools from as far as the Western Cape performed and also dominated the top ranks.

The Wesvalia drummies ended 7th overall in the senior military drill final with the leader of the squad ending in fifth place. Wesvalia’s senior flag trio ended fourth in the final.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Primary school learner Chris Grobler’s health battle is well-known. His cancer medicine costs thousands of rands and the community rallied behind him to help his parents pay the expensive medicine their son needs.

Another fundraiser initiative, is a padel tournament that will be held on Saturday July 26 at Padel Inspired Matlosana in Williams Street. It will start 07:30 and last until 19:00. The entry fee is R700 per team of two. The morning session will have twenty mixed doubles teams and in the afternoon ten men’s and ten women’s teams will play.

The winners and runners-up can win prizes worth more than R10 000. A lucky draw will also be held and a padel combo prize worth R10 000 can be won.

Expect great games, a fun atmosphere, food and drinks.
