Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Klerksdorp Fight Night is back and the venue has changed from Rio Casino to the Portuguese Hall.

KFN will take place on September 7 with ten bouts. Josiah Obasi and Zhane Tannous will clash in the main event. This light heavyweight clash promises top MMA action.

To add further attraction, Van Pletzen, popular Afrikaans rapper, will also perform.

Tickets are available at Computicket at R150 (children younger than 16), R300 (normal entry) and R400 (VIP). Children younger than six years free entry. 

VIP tables are available at R10 000 and R5 000. Tickets will also be available at the door.

According to the organisers, KFN is still in collaboration with Rio Casino and their next event (KFN15 as well as House of Strength Armwrestling Championship) will take place at Rio Casino.

 

PC Swanepoel is gekies om SA en Klerksdorp te verteenwoordig by die WAKO Wêreldkampioenskap (WK) in Hongarye vanaf 23 Augustus tot 1 September. Dit is sy tweede Wêreldkampioenskap en hy het sy Proteakleure verwerf. Hy is huidiglik die SA kampioen in sy gewigsklas van o/63kg. PC neem ook in Desember vanjaar aan die WAKO Afrikakampioenskap deel wat in Gauteng sal plaasvind. Klerksdorp Record, Potchefstroom - The NWU congratulates all Olympic athletes, especially two North West University (NWU) students, Jo-Ané van Dyk (javelin and Bradley Nkoana (4x100m relay), for their spectacular performance and achievements in winning silver medals.

Other athletes from the NWU who attended the games are Elroy Gelant, Benjamin Richardson, Rogail Joseph, Brian Raats, Adrian Swart, Ethan Olivier and Jean Verster, who served as team manager.

According to Prof Mzubanzi Bismark Tyobeka, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, winning an Olympic medal is the pinnacle of a career in athletics, symbolising years of dedication and perseverance.

Klerksdorp Record, Potchefstroom - The newly-introduced “Sylvester Jacobs Pool Festival” took place at Snowflake from August 9 to 11.

Pool players and enthusiasts from the public and formal NW Pool Association leagues joined up to ensure an exciting event. The Women’s Day tournament kicked off the festivities and in the finals Gina Labuschagne from Klerksdorp ended victorious over Linda Hart from Potchefstroom, with Marie Roux ending in the third spot.
