Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - KHS sal hul reeks wenne wil voortsit die naweek wanneer hulle teen Hoërskool Ligbron te staan kom.

Na ‘n swak begin in die Noordvaalkompetisie het die KHSérs nuwe moed nadat die eerstespan hul laaste twee wedstryde gewen het. Dit was veral die oortuigende 23-14 wen teen die onoorwonne HTS Middelburg wat nuwe asem in die span geblaas het.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Ryu Kyu GoJu Karate held their annual Gashu-Ku & Grading on Saturday July 6.

Students resisted the cold and took part in the Gashu-ku for three hours and then attended the Grading afterwards.

Students attending the Gasu-ku were Marko Blignaut, Hillary Chitanda and Ruben Else. 

The grading is held every six months. Blignaut graded to blue belt and Chitanda to yellow. The next grading will be in December.

 

 

 

 

 

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Noordwes Jukskei het die afgelope naweek sy legendedag aangebied.

Dit het baie koud begin op Saterdag 6 Julie, maar na die eerste wedstryd was almal opgewarm. 

Elf spanne het deelgeneem. Spanne van Pretoria, Vrystaat, Potchefstroom, Hartbeesfontein, Lichtenburg en Klerksdorp het deelgeneem en Pretoria het die A-afdeling gewen. Klerksdorp het die B-afdeling gewen en die span van Potch het die C-afdeling gewen.

Jukskei NW bedank al die borge wat gehelp het om die dag moontlik te maak.

The Shinkyokushinkai Annual National Karate Tournament was held at the Saul Tsotetsi Community Centre in Sebokeng Zone 14 on Saturday July 6. The Matlosana team was in attendance, registering 25 karatekas and 13 of them brought silverware back home. Salmina Motshana, Botlhokwa Motswenyane, Amahle Boqashi and Gift Ngake won their categories after brilliant and courageous efforts. The team will now prepare for the Gauteng Championships to be held next month. They train under Sensei Thomas Mayekani.

 

 

Klerksdorp Record, Potchefstroom - Leopard captain Khwezi Mafu brings an energy to the team that seems to ramp up every player. When he starts to talk, which is a lot, the players start to listen.

“Only give him 10 minutes, otherwise he’ll talk your ear off,” one of the Leopards’ assistant coaches jokes when we discuss interviewing the team’s captain.
