Klerksdorp Midweek Potchefstroom - As part of the first instalment of the South African Strings Foundation’s ‘Buckle Up for Baroque Strings’ touring series, members of the Cape Town Baroque Orchestra will present a concert of music from the Baroque era, on period-appropriate instruments, in the 2024 NWU Concert Series.
The “Battle of the Styles” will be on stage at 18:30 on Tuesday March 5. From the end of the 17th century, two prominent styles emerged in European music: the Italian style, with Corelli as one of the model composers, and the French style, with Lully’s music as a template.

Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Afrikaanse rocker Juan Boucher tree eerskomende naweek in Rio Casino se Escapadesteater op en teen druktyd was daar nog beperkte kaartjies beskikbaar.
Angelique Kleinhans van Artistique Productions het gesê slegs 400 kaartjies word verkoop en daar is bae min oor. 
Kaartjies sal by die deur ook verkoop word om die laatkommers te akkommodeer.

Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Police crime statistics released last week showed again that there is a real need for the public to get involved in the fight against crime. Police Minister Bheki Cele addressed the media to release the statistics for the third quarter of the financial year. The statistics (released on Friday February 16) showed murder cases increased by 2.1% while sexual offences went down by 1.7%. Police registered 7 710 murder cases between October and December 2023, up from 7 555 during the same period the previous year.
