Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The North West Bass Masters Club will be hosting the NTT Winter Bass Classic on Saturday June 8 at the JA Neser Dam (Klerksdorp Dam). There will be two categories: Bank angling (entry fee R200 per person) and boat angling (entry fee R250). Fishing will start at 07:00.
The R5 000 prize money is for the boat anglers’ biggest bass category and for the bank anglers it will be R2 000 prize money. There will be various lucky draw prizes as well. More information from Ockie (082 844 7823) or Darryl (082 288 0604).
Dragstar up for grabs
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Bikers Care NW is running a raffle where you can win a custom Yamaha 1100 Dragstar as the first prize.
Tickets are R100 each and the winner will be announced at Bokkies Pub and Braai on July 27. The raffle’s second prize is a helmet, jacket and gloves, third prize is a whole sheep and the fourth prize is custom knife/wine rack.
Who is Bikers Care NW? It is a local biker community-driven initiative by bikers that was established by the NW Bikers Association Council.
Nathan flies flag for KHS
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Mind Sports South Africa (MSSA) held its Combined Online Provincial Championships for Schools. Nathan Strange of KHS won the Rocket League Premier division and received NW colours. The provincial championship enabled participants to qualify for MSSA’s National Team Trials (NTT) which will be used to select South Africa’s national Protea teams to attend the international events.
There were no less than six provinces represented, and more importantly, again there were more women participating. Of the 34 athletes who earned provincial colours, 11 are females.
The female esports team, AHG (PES Society), had a good showing in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports title. Of course, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is just one of the six titles which MSSA has entered to contest at IESF’s 16th World Championships.
Play bowls for charity
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Lawns bowls can be great fun and playing the game for a good cause can be even more fun.
The Rotary Club of Orkney is hosting a Charity Bowls Day at Klerksdorp Bowls Club on July 20.

Sy wil kos, klere en komberse insamel vir enkelouers wat sukkel om die wa deur die drif te trek en nie kwalifiseer vir hulp vanaf die staat en welsynorganisasies nie. Catelynn sal elke tweede Saterdag by Matlosana Bird Parkrun wees om parkrunners aan te moedig en donasies te ontvang.
