Klerksdorp Record, Kanana - The hunt is on for the killers of Const Mojalefa Mgwebi who was murdered in Kanana over the weekend.

Mgwebi’s lifeless body was found inside his vehicle by neighbours on Sunday morning November 24. They alerted the police. He was stationed at Jouberton and was found with gunshot wounds on his upper body. He was off duty.

“According to information, he was last seen by his cousins whom he dropped off at their houses after attending a family gathering in Klerksdorp on Saturday November 23.  The motive for the incident is unknown. The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation is investigating,” said Col Amanda Funani, police spokesperson.

The Provincial Commissioner Lt-Genl Sello Kwena said that it is sad to lose a member due to murder and that the incident will have a direct impact on service delivery to our communities. He instructed the investigators to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that those who are responsible are brought to book. He conveyed his condolences to the family, friends, relatives and colleagues of the late Constable.

“Ek was geskok.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The taxi rank, next to the N12, turned into an ugly and muddled site with illegal vendors and structures. This week, the Matlosana Municipality rounded up some help from SAPS and tore down and removed most illegal structures.

“Despite repeat warnings, vendors refused to remove the structures, which were not only illegal but also contributed to the deterioration of the town’s cleanliness and aesthetic appeal,’’ said Ntswaki Makgetha, municipal spokesperson.
