Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Cricket SA awards took place last week and the city’s two Protea players did Klerksdorp proud.
The event was held in Midrand on September 5.
Running for charity
Curves Klerksdorp’s charity fun run took place on Saturday September 7. The event at the Matlosana Trail Park had 57 competitors. The event will benefit the community of Uitkomsdal between Klerksdorp and Orkney. The funds will be used to buy school uniforms and underwear. This was the second Curves charity fun run and they intend making it an annual event.

Explosive action at Fight Night
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Klerksdorp Fight Night is back. For the first time since the pandemic, the popular action-filled MMA event will be held at the Portuguese Hall this weekend.
KFN14 (it is the fourteenth event) will take place on Saturday September 7 with ten bouts. Josiah Obasi and Zhane Tannous will clash in the main event in the title fight. This light heavyweight clash promises top MMA action.
Nog ‘n mylpaal by parkrun
Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Matlosana Bird Parkrun het vrouemaand op ‘n hoë noot afgesluit op Saterdag 31 Augustus met Monica Kew wat haar 250ste parkrun voltooi het.
Nog ‘n dame, Magda Andrews het haar 100ste parkrun voltooi. Phasha William het ook sy 100ste parkrun voltooi.
Die publiek is welkom om saam deel te neem elke Saterdag aan die parkrun en die 5 km te stap of hardloop. Die byeenkoms begin om 08:00.
Hardest slap will decide the African champion
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp -Tjaart Piston Kruger of Klerksdorp cannot wait to meet his opponent at the Ultimate Slap Fight African Championship that will be held in Pretoria on October 10.
Kruger and Jaco Grootwit Marneweck will face off for the vacant super-heavyweight title. This title fight was announced in August.
