Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Exciting news for visitors to Pick & Pay Hyper is the stalls market that is making a comeback this weekend.

A new attraction at the market is a boot sale where people can get rid of their white elephants or unwanted items. The rule, according to organiser Thinus van Staden, is that the sellers can only sell from the car’s trunk. No gazebos or tables are allowed. Sellers can put up an umbrella for some shade, but all sales are strictly from the trunk. "So whether its clothes, food, ornaments, kitchenware, or books you want to sell, you're welcome."

Tumelo’s film to debut in USA

Klerksdorp Record, Vaal Reefs – Tumelo Thato Matjama is a budding film director. This 16 year-old learner at VR Technical High School will soon have the film world at her feet.

Tumelo is a film buff who is living her dream. She has established a film club, and her mentored group has produced "The Shadow of Truth," set to be showcased at the Kids Film It Festival in Ohio, USA, in March.

Her filmography includes notable works like "Shadows of Truth," "Boys in the Burbs," "Connected Hearts," and "Divided as One."

She is in Gr 10. The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) has sponsored Tumelo's attendance at the Kids Film It Festival in the US as a board member. She will represent South Africa among seven teens from different countries. She will also visit Italy in May for film-related endeavours.

She attributes her success to divine intervention and expresses gratitude to her mentors, including Apostle Noah Mwedzi and industry mentor Nomaxabiso Mahlawe. She acknowledges her mother, teachers, and club members for their unwavering support.

Klubs kuier saam om die jaar in te “ry”

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Drie sosiale klubs het die afgelope naweek onvergeetlike herinneringe gemaak.

Klerksdorp se sportmotorklub is die afgelope jare gasheer van die openingsfunksie van die Mercedes Benz Clubs van SA (Noordelike Streek). Naas lede van dié streek was daar ook vyf motors van die sentraalstreek wat van Bloemfontein ingery het om aan die feesvieringe deel te neem.

Final voter registration weekend soon

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Electoral Commission has announced the dates for the second and final voter registration weekend ahead of the 2024 National and Provincial Elections.

The country’s 23 296 voting stations will open from 08:00 to 17:00 on February 3 and 4 to allow new voters to register and existing voters to inspect and if necessary update their registration details.
