Siya Kolisi residence officially opened

Klerksdorp Midweek, Potchefstroom - The North-West University’s Siya Kolisi Residence was officially opened on Monday February 24 by South Africa’s iconic Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi.

His coach and mentor, Dr Rassie Erasmus, was also in attendance to unveil the university’s new Invictus Residence.

The Siya Kolisi Residence will primarily be used by students affiliated with the NWU Rugby Institute, with Invictus being a multi-sport residence. “No one ever dreams to have moments like this, to have a building named after them. I am so honoured and grateful for this opportunity. I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of my journey. I am standing on the shoulders of many people who helped me be where I am today.”

Elvis Blue on stage in Klerksdorp

Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Elvis Blue will be on stage at the Oase Auditorium on March 5 with a performance that cannot be missed.

He is one of the most popular performing artists in South Africa, as well as the only Idols winner to ever receive a platinum album. He also holds the record for the most SAMA wins by an Idols winner.

Elvis Blue remains a rare breed in his ability to straddle both English and Afrikaans songs.

Fearless hair to show you care

Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The 23rd CANSA Shavathon is launching on Saturday March 1, at selected shopping malls across the country.

No mall in North West have registered for the event yet. The Shavathon will continue with community and workplace events throughout March, bringing South Africans together in a bold show of solidarity with those affected by cancer.
