Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The classic fairy tale of Cinderella was staged at Hoerskool Wesvalia last week and it was a roaring success.

This version was written by Liena van der Merwe, director of the drama academy and she also starred as the fairy godmother.

The audience roared with laughter when Cinderella’s glass slipper was replaced with crocs during the packed performances in the school hall on April 30 and May 1. It is the classic story of two abusive stepsisters who are invited to the royal ball, while their sister has to stay behind. Her fairy godmother appears and grants her a wish to also go to the ball. This godmother provided a sports car, servants, dress and perfectly fitted white crocs to wear with her evening gown.

Anchen Hodgson and Shané Einkamerer could be seen as Cinderella (on different nights) and the prince was played by Juwan van Staden and Ruan van Antwerpen.

The u/13 boys soccer team of Curro Klerksdorp is the KOSH Town League winner. Peter Makuru and Morné Kriel can be seen with Katlego Seodisha, Bonolo Zilanda (Captain), Ethan Twani and Emman Nyachuru.

Hoërskool Wesvalia en KHS neem in verskillende afdelings deel en sal dus nie teen mekaar te staan kom nie. KHS neem in die plaat-afdeling deel en is tans sesde op die punteleer nadat Hoërskool Zwartkop die eerste wedstryd met ‘n telling van 44-31 gewen het.
