Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Miss Supranational South Africa Bryoni Govender made it into the top 12 of the competition. Harashta Haifa Zahra of Indonesia was crowned Miss Supranational at the 15th edition of the competition which was held in Nowy Sącz in Poland on Saturday night July 7. South Africa’s Fezile Mkhize took the Mister Supranational 2024 crown last week.

It was a glittering affair this past weekend at the NW Portuguese Club where the Miss Klerksdorp, Miss Klerksdorp Teen and Mrs Klerksdorp pageant was held. The winner in the Mrs Klerksdorp category is Sharéne Wellen, with Marelize Nel as first princess and second princess Liza-marie Dias.

Green ID book’s days are numbered
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Around 17 million South Africans will soon be forced to swop their green barcode ID books for smart ID cards when the former becomes invalid.
After more than a decade since introducing the smart ID card, the Department of Home Affairs has announced plans to retire the green barcode ID book.
